Bato Springs is a very interesting resort located in the middle of a jungle. A two hour ride from Metro Manila and just several minutes away from the main city of San Pablo in Laguna, it sports river pools fed by cool mountain spring water. The clear sparkling water is skirted by manmade waterfalls along the edges, and on some pools there are water slides for the kids to enjoy. Surrounding the pools is the Jungle itself. Dioko Resort and Butterfly Farm is located at Bgy. San Joaquin, San Pablo City, Laguna. Actually, the place is more than a resort and butterfly farm, it also has a mini zoo! A really great destination for families with young kids, and at affordable rates at that.
Entrance is less than PhP 100 per person, just add PhP 50 (adults) or PhP 30 (kids) for butterfly farm entrance. Cottage rental is a must (at about PhP 600) but it's well worth it considering the different wonders that can be seen here. The mini zoo features peacocks, eagles, monkeys, pigeons, snake, turtles, deer, rabbit, ostrich, etc.
For airsoft enthusiasts and gamers, a paintball field is available for use.
